Vowsec ("we", "us", "our") is a safety check-in app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Vowsec, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: username (and optionally email) you provide when registering.
• Check-in records: timestamps of your check-ins, used to compute streaks and detect inactivity.
• Emergency contacts: names and email addresses you add, used only to send safety alerts on your behalf.
• Settings: your alert threshold (days), timezone, and reminder preferences.
• Purchase information: Google Play purchase tokens used solely to verify your Pro upgrade.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core service: tracking check-ins and notifying your emergency contacts if you become unreachable.
• To send verification codes and service-related emails.
• To verify purchases and manage your plan.
• To maintain and improve the service.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Your Emergency Contacts

Email addresses of your emergency contacts are used exclusively to send them safety alerts that you explicitly configure. They can opt out by contacting us.

4.1 Disclaimer

Vowsec is a notification tool that helps you stay connected with your chosen emergency contacts. Alerts depend on network connectivity, email delivery, and server availability. We do not guarantee that notifications will reach your contacts. Vowsec facilitates communication between you and your contacts; it does not replace personal judgment or direct communication.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete Account); associated check-in records, contacts, and settings are then permanently deleted from our servers. After deletion, no personal data remains.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@vowsec.app.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and passwords are stored as salted hashes. While no system is perfectly secure, we apply industry-standard safeguards.

8. Children's Privacy

Vowsec is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
